National Geographic Kids is an awesome app that you can use to find pictures and information for your projects and assignments to get started Let's Open Class link now you'll want to click on the National Geographic Kids icon if this is your first time using National Geographic Kids you'll be asked to sign in at the bottom left-hand corner of the page through class link now that we've signed in you'll be able to see all of the videos pictures books and magazines that you can browse through or you can click on the explore topics tab at the top of the page but for this example I want to try to find some information for a keynote presentation that I'm making about the rainforest so all type rainforest into the search bar in top right-hand corner when I hit enter it will pull up all of my search results but if I wanted to I can look just it videos pictures or magazines but I like this picture I think I want to use this for my opening slide so I'll hold my finger down a picture that I want select copy and then slide back over to my keynote presentation to paste it in know something that's really important for any assignment where I'm getting information or pictures off the internet is to make sure that my teacher knows where I'm getting so I need to make sure that I'm writing down all of my sources at the end of my presentation this I'll go back to my picture and click on citation tools in the top right-hand corner of the screen I need to do is copy and paste all of this information that shows where my picture came from so I'll copy it go back to my presentation and paste it on my sources slide now that I've got my opening I figured out I want to watch a video that will tell me a little bit more information about the rainforest rainforest one handy little feature about this app is that after I watched I can read a transcript of everything that was said so if I really like a specific word or phrase I can find that down here underneath the video and copy it straight into my presentation which is what I'm doing now once I've highlighted in kop this information about the weather I'm going to jump back into my keynote and add it to my weather slide making sure that I use a complete sentence that tells where I got the information from before pacing it in I also need to make sure that I put quotes around the words that I took from the video so that my teacher knows that stuff up citation tools copying the citation and pasting it on to my sources page pretty much it for my presentation I just want to grab one more picture for this weather slide and then I'm done so again I'll copy my picture paste it onto my slide copy my citation and paste it onto my sources slide those are just the basics of how to use National Geographic Kids feel free to explore everything that I can do for you for yourself and of course if you have questions feel free to contact your librarian or shoot us an email thank you for watching
