A student who has a contagious disease must be excluded from school until the danger of transmitting the disease to others has passed.

For 24 hours before returning to school, a child must be free of any obvious signs of illness  such as vomiting, diarrhea, and/or fever (without the use of fever-reducing medicine such as acetominophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil).

  • Certificate of the attending physician or local health authority verifying that the student is no longer contagious
  • Exclusion for a period of time corresponding to the duration of the communicability of the disease, as established by the commissioner of health.
